During my visits in Ethiopia, students often ask me if I can be their sponsor. Sometimes this is not a serious question. The 'student' is only after your money. If I really meet a person that I consider intelligent and hardworking and who really does not have the financial possibilities to continue studying, I promise to help him in finding a sponsor.

You should  know that primary and secundairy education is free in Ethiopia. Academic studies are not. So the universities are mainly for the well to do. Apart from being a social injustice, this also deprives the country of much of its intelligent potential and critical thinking.
